During sightseeing trips, we occasionally visit a place that tour guides and guide books will indicate is on the UNESCO World Heritage Site List. There are certain criteria that must be met for a place to be added to this list. Details and a complete list of these world heritage sites can be found on the UNESCO World Heritage List website. It is not currently a goal of mine to visit all the UNESCO World Heritage sites but like other travelers, I enjoy lists. Just for fun, I decided to start keeping track of how many of these world treasures I've actually visited.
